Grips and handlebar tapes for comfort
Ergonomic grips
Ergonomic grips distribute pressure over a larger surface and prevent tingling in the fingers on longer rides. Available in rubber, silicone, and foam. For city bikes and mountain bikes, grips are essential for comfort on the handlebar.
Handlebar tape for road bikes
For road bikes with drop bars, handlebar tape is used. Available in various thicknesses and materials, from thin and light to thick and cushioning. Gel tape offers extra shock absorption. Tape is secured with mounting paste on smooth bars.
Materials and colors
Grips are available in rubber, silicone, foam, and leather, in various colors. Handlebar tape comes in different patterns and colors. The inner diameter must fit the handlebar, and the outside must be compatible with brake levers.
Comfort and pressure distribution
Good grips or tape prevent hand and wrist strain on longer rides. Thicker grips are more comfortable for larger hands. Grip position is influenced by stem length and handlebar type.
Replace worn grips or tape promptly for grip and comfort. Also check brake levers for wear. Contact cleaner can help remove old grips.
