Girls' bikes in all sizes

Wheel sizes and age

Girls' bikes are available in different wheel sizes, matched to the child's age and height. 12-inch and 16-inch models are intended for the youngest, 20-inch for children aged 6 to 9, and 24-inch for older girls. Within each size, there are differences in color, saddle, and handlebars. See also the general children's bikes category.

Frame shape and step-through

Girls' bikes have a low step-through, often with a continuous frame that makes mounting and dismounting easy. This is especially important for young children who are not yet confident on the bike. The frame is reinforced to withstand falls. The seatpost clamp allows the saddle height to be quickly adjusted as the child grows.

Equipment and accessories

Many girls' bikes come standard with mudguards, a chain guard, and sometimes a basket. Lighting is important for visibility in traffic. A kickstand makes parking easier. Bicycle bells in fun colors make wearing a bell appealing.

Brakes and safety

Girls' bikes often combine a coaster brake with hand brakes. The brake levers are adapted to smaller hands. A bicycle helmet in the right size is the most important safety investment.

For maintaining a girls' bike, bicycle pumps, greases, and spare tires are indispensable. The chain should be lubricated regularly. Also check out the children's helmets for optimal safety.
