Description

The StingIR-384 from American AGM Global Vision is a tactical thermal imaging camera supplied with a helmet mount (bridge) with Dovetail connection. With a 384x288 detector (12μm) and real-time image, it is a high-quality hands-free viewer. The AGM StingIR-384 is specifically developed for professional users and any demanding user who wants to keep their hands free during use. The device is only 14 cm long and weighs less than 200 grams.

Internal highlights

The camera can detect people at a distance of up to 730 m and vehicles up to more than one kilometer. The wide field of view is 16.3 x 12.3 degrees. The optical magnification is 1x, but with a digital zoom, you can further magnify up to 2x and 4x. You can also use the Picture-in-Picture mode to further magnify a specific object in view. The environment is projected onto a razor-sharp OLED display with 1028x768 pixels.

Optimal observation and detection

You can have the environment displayed based on four color palettes: White Hot, Black Hot, Orange Hot (also known as Outdoor Alert) and Rainbow. You can manually control the brightness and contrast, which are adjustable in 10 levels. You can also use the built-in digital compass and inclinometer, which displays the angle adjustment in degrees.

Helmet mounting

With the AGM StingIR, you receive a bridge with a Dovetail connection, allowing you to attach the thermal imaging camera to any standard helmet or goggle kit (headset). The adapter has a rail, allowing you to perfectly position the thermal imaging camera in front of the desired eye. The NVG mount - which connects your helmet to the bridge - is not included, as it depends on the type of connection on the front of your helmet. The scope of delivery and images show exactly what is included.

External features and power supply

The viewer is IP67 certified, meaning it is water and dustproof. You can also use the camera without problems in extreme temperatures from -10°C to +60°C. You can power the AGM StingIR in several ways: via continuous power or one CR123, RCR123 or 18650 battery. The camera also has a standby mode to further extend its lifespan. Continuous power supply can be achieved, for example, by attaching a power bank to the back of your helmet or goggle kit and connecting it to the thermal imaging camera (USB-C connection). This also ensures optimal balance.

Application of AGM StingIR-384

This monocular thermal imaging camera is designed for both handheld and hands-free use. This makes it an ideal solution for a wide range of applications. Think of airsoft and tactical use, such as police and defense (Mil/LE) and any form of security, rescue services or, for example, the coast guard. In addition, the StingIR is also suitable for nocturnal navigation, general nature observations and hunting. With the help of thermal imaging, you can always observe and detect, regardless of the weather type or time of day.
