The Neptune chain has a special coating designed to withstand corrosive conditions and severe dynamic contact between the chain and the sprocket.

This chain is suitable for use in applications subject to alkaline cleaning and environments exposed to seawater, acid rain, and other adverse weather conditions. This chain does not contain chemically hazardous substances such as Chromium-6, lead, cadmium, and mercury as regulated by RoHSv.
