The naturally slightly acidic skin environment is disturbed by soap, because curd soap, for example, has an alkaline pH value of 8.5 to 9.0 and also degreases the skin. If emulsifying bile salts are added to this, there can be no question of skin-friendly cleansing. Gall soap was developed for removing grease and protein stains from textiles and, like bile acid, is not intended for skin care." Therefore, gall soap is not tested for skin compatibility, because the product is not made for the skin. Tabori generally advises against experimenting with your own skin to avoid unnecessarily increasing the risk of allergies and skin irritations: "The less contact with the skin, the more natural. It is best to clean with water and a very mild, pH-neutral product without fragrances, colorants, and preservatives."
