In the female anatomy, the average of the pubic symphysis (front cartilage connecting the two halves of the pelvis) is a quarter lower than in the male pelvis, and the angle of the pubic bones is wider. Additionally, mobility is higher in women, so when seated, their pelvis often shifts further forward. This can cause high pressure in the genital area. The central relief, which is positioned far forward, as well as the wider saddle flanks (V-shaped) help distribute the pressure over the bony structures of the seating area.
