Publisher Kluitman Golden Horses: Roan's Rescue

Roan is a large, sturdy, friendly Friesian. He is perfectly happy in his stable in Friesland, with his owner Dieuwertje. Together they go on wonderful hacks and are reasonably successful in dressage competitions. But when Dieuwertje comes to the stable crying one day, Roan's world falls apart. Dieuwertje's mother has lost her job and they can no longer afford Roan. To his great sorrow, he has to be sold. His new owner is very different from Dieuwertje. Roan has to work incredibly hard in a two-horse team, together with Tjeerd. The two horses become firm friends but also have a tough time and receive little food. Moreover, Tjeerd is terrified of water. Roan does what he can to help his new friend overcome his fear. It seems to work, until they participate in a big competition. There, something happens that will turn Roan's world upside down once again...
