Hunger for Words is opgericht door Christina Hunger, een logopediste die in haar puppy Stella een hoop kenmerken terugzag die ze ook ziet bij peuters vlak voor ze gaan praten. In de speech buttons van Hunger for Words wordt dierenpsychologie, spraakpathologie en AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) gecombineerd tot een leerzaam en leuk spel waarin de hond leert zijn of haar stem te laten horen. De Essential Words Set biedt verschillende vooraf ingesproken woorden. Deze woorden komen terug in de basistraining van elke hond. Enorm handig dus! De buttons zijn Engels ingesproken en laten de woorden "walk ', "play", "eat", "outside", "water" en "love you" horen. Bij deze set zit een handleiding geschreven door oprichtster inbegrepen
