The SIL-TEC coated inner plates also noticeably increase durability. Dynamic Chain Engagement+ Dynamic Chain Engagement+ is a special tooth profile developed for use on 1-speed chainring configurations for XC, Enduro, and trail riding. It ensures improved chain retention and thus enables smoother pedaling - even on uneven terrain. The chain guide of each individual tooth reduces wear on the entire profile. Hyperglide+ Traditional Hyperglide technology ensures smooth upshifts thanks to small shifting ramps that guide the chain to the next larger sprocket. Hyperglide+ adopts this functionality but also applies it in the opposite direction to prevent the chain from falling off when downshifting. The result is smooth and consistent shifting in both directions, without vibrations and without disturbing the cadence.
