BLACK OXIDE: Enduro bearings use races made from 52100 chrome alloy and high-carbon steel, which have undergone thermal and cryogenic treatment. This means that everything is brought down to a temperature of –190°, which creates a certain hardness and thus reduces the wear on the balls. We then give the bearing a magnetic treatment (black or Black Oxide color), which provides protection against corrosion and also allows for easy assembly.
