ABEC 3: A standard value used to measure the tolerance of the surface of rolling bearings. There are five classes: 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9. The higher the ABEC class, the greater the precision, efficiency, and speed capacity, but the highest ABEC classes are not necessarily the fastest rotating components. The outer "lip" keeps water and impurities out, while the inner seal retains grease for smooth rotation and long intervals between maintenance.
