How can I view the environment at night?

Which viewing mode you use at night depends on your environment, what exactly you want to see, and at what distance you want to view. At night, you have no fewer than three options:

• Night vision green phosphor: the familiar green image for general observations at night, for example in the field or in the forest. If you want to see as far as possible, this mode is the best to use.
• Night vision White Phosphor: Color contrast for the most readable and sharpest image. Suitable for urban environments.
• Black/White: a black-and-white image for when you need as much contrast as possible, for example for reading texts or license plates on cars.
• Amber: a new, unique color mode that gives you a golden image. You use this mode when you want to see a lot of details and have high contrast. Particularly suitable in situations where some form of residual light is present (e.g., at sunrise).

Whichever option you choose, don't forget to remove the color filter from the lens at night, as it will block infrared and ambient light.

Infrared illuminator

When you can't see your hand in front of your face, that's when the night vision device truly comes alive. The night vision device is equipped with a powerful infrared illuminator. You use this when there is little or no light present, for example in a remote forest. The IR has an invisible 850nm beam, and the glow is only visible up close. You can easily adjust the power and angle of the infrared beam.

What can I expect during the day and at dusk?

During the day, the STARGAZER produces a razor-sharp image. This is due to the special 'day mode', the color filter, and the AMOLED-Q Quad-Pixel HD widescreen. The quality you see with this viewer during the day will not be found in any other night vision device. This means you can use the device as a digital camera and binoculars during the day. You can also view for a long time with great detail at dusk. And when it gets too dark, you switch to one of the night modes, which you have already read about.

Unique quality photos and videos

The device captures photos with an astonishing resolution of no less than 5360x3008 pixels (16.1MP) and records videos in 1080p at 60fps. These are stored on the 16GB microSD card and can be transferred to your computer or laptop with the microSD stick. The viewer features EIS (Electronic Image Stabilization) to compensate for vibrations and correct blur. If you want to take many shots, we recommend using a sturdy tripod. These can be found in the optional accessories.

Operating the night vision device with your smartphone

Via the free 'Roadcam' app, you can control the STARGAZER with your smartphone or tablet (for Android and iOS). For example, you can view live images via your smartphone. The viewer creates its own Wi-Fi signal so you can easily connect your device.

Comfort and power supply

The night vision binoculars are binocular, meaning you look through them with two eyes. This makes it very comfortable - even for prolonged use - because you don't have to constantly squint one eye. You can use the device with the four included CR123A batteries for up to 3 hours. You can also provide continuous power to the viewer by connecting it to, for example, a power bank or laptop (via the included USB-C cable). Extra powerful CR123 batteries are also optionally available.
