Description
Baryonyx is een geslacht van theropode dinosaurussen die ongeveer 125 miljoen jaar geleden leefden in het Barremiaanse stadium van het vroege Krijt. Het holotype-exemplaar werd ontdekt in 1983 in Surrey, Engeland, en het dier kreeg de naam Baryonyx, wat "zware klauw" betekent en verwijst naar de zeer grote klauw van het dier aan de wijsvinger.
