Description
Baryonyx is a genus of theropod dinosaurs that lived approximately 125 million years ago in the Barremian stage of the Early Cretaceous period. The holotype specimen was discovered in 1983 in Surrey, England, and the animal was named Baryonyx, meaning "heavy claw" in reference to the animal's very large claw on its index finger.
