De potvis is een imposant zeedier dat vaak in groepen wordt gezien. Deze groepen, ook wel pods genoemd, bestaan meestal uit zo'n 15 tot 20 dieren. In deze pods bevinden zich vrouwtjes en hun jongen, terwijl mannetjes de neiging hebben om alleen rond te zwerven of van groep naar groep te gaan.
- Vrouwtjes en kalveren verblijven het hele jaar door in tropische of subtropische wateren.
- Mannetjes daarentegen migreren naar hogere breedtegraden, alleen of in groepen.
- Terugkerend naar de evenaar om te broeden.
- De potvis is een speelfiguur van 30 x 10 x 8 centimeter groot.
