De rollen zijn gepoft, waardoor ze hoog in eiwitten en laag in vet zijn. Doordat ze gerookt zijn, hebben de rollen een unieke smaak. Kauwen op runderhuid gaat verveling tegen en helpt bij het schoonhouden van het gebit, omdat de runderhuid bij het kauwen langs de tanden wrijft en zo tandplak helpt verminderen.
