Bamboo and wood have the same positive properties in many respects; bamboo is even slightly stronger than wood. A big difference lies in the growth rate of the materials. A tree needs decades to grow large. Bamboo, on the other hand, can be harvested much faster. This makes it part of a short carbon cycle, meaning that no "old" CO2 is released during harvesting. The place where the bamboo was harvested also recovers more quickly.
