Pokon Grass Seed Shadow is ideal for laying or repairing a lawn that is in the shade. The grass seed can be used for recovery after winter, recovery after scarifying, or recovery of bare patches. The lawn will quickly grow back dense. In addition, the strong mixture ensures that the grass is resistant to trampling, and a full sward in the shade prevents moss. Instructions for use Sowing: Preparation: First, thoroughly dig over the soil (approx. 30cm) and carefully remove all weeds with their roots. Level the ground, let it settle, rake it flat, and break up any clumps to create a level seedbed. Sowing: For optimal germination, it is important that the soil is not cold and that the outdoor temperature is above 15°C. Sow in moist soil during calm weather; if no rain has fallen, first sprinkle the soil. First, sow the perimeter/outer edges of the lawn. Then, sow the lawn twice, once along the length and once across the width. This ensures the best distribution of the grass seed. Sow the grass seed evenly and not too densely, as this hinders development. After sowing: Lightly rake in the grass seed (approx. 0.5 – 1 cm) and lightly roll or walk over it to ensure good contact between the seed and the soil. Keep the soil moist for the first 2 to 4 weeks by spraying evenly and carefully. If the top layer dries out, germination will fail or the small grass plants will die. Mow for the first time when the grass is approximately 8 to 10 cm long, using a sharply set, high-bladed mower. Repairing: Preparation for repairing bare patches: Clear the bare patches of moss and weeds and loosen the soil with a rake. Apply a layer of Pokon Lawn Soil and level it. Preparation for overseeding: Scarify the lawn or mow the grass as short as possible. Then apply a thin layer of Lawn Soil.
