Description
High-quality linoleum roller with a sturdy handle. Thanks to its solid rubber construction, the roller is ideal for rolling out printing ink for linocuts etc. Roll thick printing ink in an empty paint tray until you have a thin, even layer. Then, roll the ink onto a carved linoleum or rubber printing block. Roll back and forth in different directions, from one edge of the printing block to the other. Place the paper to be printed on the printing block, then place a piece of paper or cardboard on top for protection. If you don't have a printing press, you can use the roller as a good alternative for smaller images. Roll back and forth with the linoleum roller on top of the protective paper – change direction and roll from one edge of the printing block underneath to the other until the ink is evenly distributed. Remove the protective paper, take the printed paper off the printing block, and let it dry. Clean the roller in lukewarm water and dry it with a paper towel or a tea towel. The advantage of using a solid rubber roller instead of a foam paint roller is that the slightly sticky printing ink adheres to the roller in a thick, even layer, whereas a foam roller only absorbs some of the ink. So, if you want an even and perfectly printed image, we recommend using a solid rubber roller.
