The enormous bone plates on the stegosaurus's back are quite impressive. But this herbivore is usually friendly. You just shouldn't disturb or annoy it, because then it can become quite nasty. It will lash out with its imposing spiked tail. So it's best to stay on good terms with this nine-meter-long prehistoric giant! You can recognize the stegosaurus from afar, and not just because of its size. The fiery red, curved, double bone plates on its back are unmistakable. The contrast with its yellowish lizard skin is a beautiful sight. Head down, it shuffles across the meadows. It tries to keep its tail up. It's probably grazing again. That's what the stegosaurus does all day: this 4.5-ton herbivore doesn't get its fill easily. Who wants to help it with that?
