Description
The proboscis monkey from the schleich® WILD LIFE theme world is a primate species that lives in the rainforests and mangrove forests of the Asian island of Borneo. The male animals have a strikingly large nose that can grow up to 10 cm long. However, they cannot smell very well with it. Researchers believe that the nose serves to impress the females. Proboscis monkeys are mammals that are active during the day. They live in small groups and feed on leaves and fruits.
