Offer your pet 2.5 cm of bathing sand in a bathhouse or dish, and let your pet bathe in it for a maximum of 10 to 20 minutes. Chinchillas enjoy a daily sand bath, while hamsters, gerbils and degus prefer it about twice a week. Replace the sand at least once a week and if it is soiled by faeces or moisture.
