At the tip of the PROFTEC screw there is also a pre-drilling 'cutting tip'; this allows you to work without pre-drilling in most cases, without splitting the wood. The 3.5 – 4.0 – 4.5 – 5.0mm screws can all be driven in with the same TX-20 bit. So you don't have to change bits when screwing with different screw sizes. Sharp milling ribs under the head ensure a neat finish when you countersink the screw head into the wood. All screws from 40mm length are designed as partial thread, with a helical shape on the shank; for optimal functioning in wood-to-wood connections. Due to the 'free' shoulder part of the PROFTEC screw, the second wood part is pulled extra tightly onto the first part, making the wood connection much stronger. The screws are packed in a handy plastic bucket, as a bulk package. The bucket made of recycled plastic is convenient to use and has a handle for lifting, which saves a lot of cardboard waste if you use larger quantities of screws.
