About Talens Art Creation water-soluble oil pastels Talens Art Creation water-soluble oil pastels are soft, oily pastels that are easy to blend and apply, just like regular oil pastels. The difference, however, is that you can mix these pastels with water to create even softer colour transitions and make the intense colours slightly more transparent for a watercolour effect. Apply water to (parts of) your paper with a wet brush, wet the pastels before applying them, or use a wet brush to pick up colour from the pastel and apply it to your paper. Create smooth colours by smoothing the texture of your applied dry oil pastel strokes with a wet brush for streak-free colour blends and transitions.
