Schwalbe's new Tubeless valves: the suitable valve lengths and technical details – wider valve base, shorter conical shape, hexagon socket, larger O-ring – facilitate Tubeless installation. The new valve trio offers a suitable length for all common rim heights. "Where a valve extender was previously needed, there was also a chance of air loss at the valve extension. This is ruled out with the new valves, which are made from a single piece," explains Johannes Binner of Schwalbe Marketing. The other new details also simplify Tubeless installation for MTB riders, road cyclists, and touring cyclists. For example, Schwalbe product developers have increased the inner diameter at the valve base from 2.4 to 4 millimetres, so that air and sealant can now flow through the valve much better. This minimises the risk of blockages in the valve due to crystal particles in the sealant. Other advantages include the hexagon socket and the shortening of the conical shape: with an Allen key, the valve base can be mounted more securely in the rim, without overtightening the valve base. With a shorter conical valve base, the valve base can sink even deeper into the valve hole. This means the valve base height is minimal and more space is left in the rim for the bead wires, making installation easier. The new, large O-ring also ensures this. This allows the valve to adapt optimally to different rim shapes, while preventing damage to the rim from the valve nut. The previously required spacer is no longer necessary. "Until now, some cyclists and bike retailers were still somewhat hesitant about Tubeless technology. With our new Tubeless valves, the handling and installation of Tubeless tyres have once again become significantly easier," Johannes Binner summarises.
