Our ingredients

To produce our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dried to make it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together create a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for a dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote a dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Beagle-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Beagle. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Beagle belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients were selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Beagle.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the northern hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. Additionally, they contain good fiber for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to a dog's overall health.

Tomato

The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog, we use tomato at a culinary level, considering it a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content that contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives them their red color. The redder a tomato, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving tomatoes their red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can offer protection against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, tomatoes contain many vitamin C and vitamin A and B complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomato is added to our dog food because it could positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. Besides this, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found in the Netherlands on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally from North America, the plant is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B, and C, and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a positive effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could positively contribute to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions, among other things.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Beagle dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Beagle is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Beagle older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Beagle senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. That's why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Beagle doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we can't resolve it together, we will refund your purchase amount.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Beagle dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it with the entire bag, which you seal as best as possible, in the container.
