Our ingredients

To make our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dried, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific ailments can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Boston Terrier specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Boston Terrier. We also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Boston Terrier belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Boston Terrier.

Peppermint

Peppermint is a plant from the mint family. It is the plant that led to the creation of peppermint candies. Peppermint originated from a cross between watermint and spearmint. The plant was found in England in the seventeenth century in a field of mint plants. The plant is cultivated in England, France, China, Japan, and in North and South America.

Peppermint can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific ailments related to the intestines and gallbladder. Preventing itching is also among the properties of the peppermint plant.

Peppermint can promote fresh breath. The mint in peppermint can have an anti-spasmodic effect on the gut and promotes the flow of bile into the intestine. In addition, it can have an antiseptic effect.

Peppermint is rich in vitamins A and C and minerals such as calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, and phosphorus.

Nettle

Nettle is a genus of plants, of which the common nettle and the annual nettle occur in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its cleansing and blood-purifying properties. According to various sources, nettle is bactericidal and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the function of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it supports the bladder and the dog's hair growth.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building block that is part of connective tissue in bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair, and nails, among other things. Silicon supports the natural production of skin (cells) and ensures the maintenance of healthy skin.

At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific ailments related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, but also for preventing digestive and/or urinary problems.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. The cultivation of raspberries dates back to the Middle Ages and occurs naturally throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many substances that can support the dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fibers.

Raspberry is added to our dog food due to its anti-inflammatory properties and it can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also contribute to maintaining eyesight and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Boston Terrier dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Boston Terrier is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Boston Terrier older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Boston Terrier senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. That is why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Boston Terrier does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can feed 100% Yourdog Boston Terrier dog food at your discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you seal as well as possible.
