Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific issues can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Catalan Sheepdog-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Catalan Sheepdog. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Catalan Sheepdog belongs. Based on this research, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Catalan Sheepdog.

Thyme

Thyme is a genus from the mint family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a very aromatic scent. Thyme has been used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb for lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumors, headaches, colic, and nervous weaknesses.

The medicinal properties of thyme are confirmed by its high vitamin K content. Additionally, thyme also contains a lot of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fiber.

Thyme is anti-inflammatory and has powerful antibacterial and antifungal properties. In addition, it stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively combats free radicals.

At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific issues related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural bacteria fighter.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree from the genus Malus, on which the well-known eating apples grow, especially in the northern hemisphere. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibers have a versatile action in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making the stool soft and smooth. Dietary fibers also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates bowel function but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fiber that contributes to supporting healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures the development of muscle and bone during the early years.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, while magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you choose the right variant of our Catalan Sheepdog dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Catalan Sheepdog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Catalan Sheepdog older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Catalan Sheepdog Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog will now be almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Catalan Sheepdog dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loose into the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you seal as best as possible, into the bin.
