Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed more easily into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Not only are vegetables nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food has been carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Glen of Imaal Terrier. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Glen of Imaal Terrier belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Glen of Imaal Terrier.

Spirulina

Spirulina is a nutritional supplement with an exceptionally high nutritional value, made from blue-green algae found in tropical and subtropical regions. It belongs to the microalgae family. Did you know that spirulina can be grown in space and consists of 60 to 70% protein?

It is rich in vitamins, including B12, minerals, such as calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium and potassium, and all essential amino acids. Spirulina can generally contribute to the health and well-being of dogs. In addition, it can contribute to supporting the immune system and promoting healthy skin and a shiny coat. The algae also have a detoxifying effect and promote digestion.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen resistance. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. In addition, potassium can contribute to lowering blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can contribute to relaxing muscles and promoting bone growth. Bananas also contain many good fibres and ensure more good bacteria in the intestines.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. The cultivation of raspberries dates back to the Middle Ages and occurs naturally throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many substances that can support dog health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fibres.

Raspberry is added to our dog food due to its anti-inflammatory properties and it can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also contribute to maintaining vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Glen of Imaal Terrier dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Glen of Imaal Terrier is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Glen of Imaal Terrier older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Glen of Imaal Terrier Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Glen of Imaal Terrier does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Glen of Imaal Terrier dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
