Our Ingredients
To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also possess other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruits
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that dogs receive all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruits can be beneficial for a dog's immune system, and they can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants across Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in a dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific issues can be alleviated through the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Hanoverian Scenthound Specific Vegetables, Herbs, and Fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Hanoverian Scenthound. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Hanoverian Scenthound belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Hanoverian Scenthound.
Thyme
Thyme is a genus from the mint family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a very aromatic scent. Thyme was used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb for lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumours, headaches, colic, and nervous disorders.
The medicinal properties of thyme are confirmed by its high vitamin K content. Additionally, thyme also contains a lot of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fibre.
Thyme has anti-inflammatory properties and a powerful antibacterial and antifungal effect. It also stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively combats free radicals.
At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it may contribute positively to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural antibacterial agent.
Apple
The apple tree is a tree from the genus Malus, on which the well-known eating apples, common particularly in the northern hemisphere, grow. Apples grow in temperate regions.
Dietary fibres have a versatile effect in the digestive tract. They can absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates bowel function but also ensures thorough elimination of waste products.
Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre. Additionally, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble, and apples are low in calories.
Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures muscle and bone development during the younger years.
Plums
The plum is a tree fruit from the rose family and falls under the category of stone fruits. Plum trees are known for their beautiful blossoms in spring, and the sweet, juicy fruit was already eaten early in Roman times.
Plums contain numerous healthy nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Plums are rich in vitamins A, B6, B12, C, and D, and the minerals potassium, magnesium, and iron. Additionally, plums are low in calories and known for their laxative effect.

Allow the dog to get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Hanoverian Scenthound dog food.
Storage Advice
After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place.
