Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the dog's size, breed, or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Jack Russell specific vegetables, herbs, and fruit

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Jack Russell. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Jack Russell belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Jack Russell.

Licorice Root

Licorice root is derived from the Greek glyks for "sweet" and rhiza for "root," it is also called Glycyrrhiza glabra. The plant originates from Eurasia, North Africa, and West Asia. Since ancient times, medicinal properties have been attributed to licorice, and the root is often used for the preparation of herbal tea.

Licorice root is said to have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and is also said to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. In addition, it can contribute to the recovery of the gastric mucosa and is said to be good for a sensitive gastrointestinal system.

Carrot

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossings. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. Carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the formation of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fiber in a carrot contributes to the dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Jack Russell dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Jack Russell is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variety. For a Jack Russell older than 7 years, we recommend the . If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variety.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can feed 100% Yourdog Jack Russell dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to put it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
