Our ingredients

To produce our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with additional valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our feed. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, providing your dog with all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for your dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in your dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Jack Russell-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruit

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Jack Russell. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Jack Russell belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutrition experts, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Jack Russell.

Licorice Root

Licorice root is derived from the Greek "glyks" for "sweet" and "rhiza" for "root", and is also called Glycyrrhiza glabra. The origin of the plant lies in Eurasia, North Africa, and West Asia. Medicinal properties have been attributed to licorice since ancient times, and the root is often used for preparing herbal tea.

Licorice root is said to have a soothing effect on mucous membranes and is also believed to have anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. Additionally, it can contribute to the recovery of the gastric mucosa and is considered beneficial for a sensitive gastrointestinal system.

Carrot

The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of cross-breeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.

Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fibre. For example, carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the development of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fibre in a carrot contributes to the dog's digestion. Additionally, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.

At Yourdog, we add carrots to dog food because they can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat and skin. But also to promote good vision and healthy digestion.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. Raspberry cultivation dates back to the Middle Ages and it is naturally found throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many substances that can support a dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fibre.

Raspberry is added to our dog food due to its anti-inflammatory properties and it can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also help maintain eyesight and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Jack Russell dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Jack Russell is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Jack Russell older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Jack Russell Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Jack Russell doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then, feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Jack Russell dog food at your discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the loose food in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you close as well as possible, into the bin.
