Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be better processed into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Kromfohrländer specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Kromfohrländer. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Kromfohrländer belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Kromfohrländer.

Fennel

Fennel is a plant from the carrot family and is recognisable by its aniseed taste. The thread-like branches of the leaves are often used as a herb and the seeds as a spice. These seeds have been known for their medicinal properties for centuries.

Like many herbs and seeds, fennel is rich in various vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamin A and C and the minerals iron and potassium.

Fennel can be added to our dog food because it can support digestion and counteract bloating in the stomach and intestines. It can contribute to a healthy cardiovascular system and can have a positive effect on joint problems. Fennel is also said to promote fresh breath.

Yucca

This plant grows in the deserts of the Southwestern USA and Northern Mexico. The roots of the yucca have been used for centuries by the Indians in these areas as a medicine for rheumatism and arthritis. It inhibits pain and inflammation in the joints.

Yucca can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, arthritis, osteoarthritis, the intestines, and the heart. Yucca can also make faeces smell less strong and remedy foul-smelling flatulence.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree of the genus Malus, on which the hand-apples commonly known especially in the northern hemisphere grow. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have a versatile effect in the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making the faeces soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also cause an increase in volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates the functioning of the intestines but also ensures a thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble, and apples are low in calories.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you choose the right Yourdog Kromfohrländer dog food, you can use the following guidelines. If your Kromfohrländer is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Kromfohrländer older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Kromfohrländer senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Kromfohrländer doesn't seem to like their Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, we will refund your purchase price.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After that, at your discretion, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Kromfohrländer dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible, into the container.
