Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is bursting with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry contribute to good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

East Siberian Laika specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the East Siberian Laika. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the East Siberian Laika belongs. Based on these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the East Siberian Laika.

Basil

Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where "Obasileus" means king, hence the alternative name "king's herb". It originated between Central Africa and Southeast Asia.

According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for conditions such as arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart diseases and abdominal pain. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help with the removal of waste products, and may have antispasmodic and calming effects on dogs.

Plums

The plum is a tree fruit from the rose family and belongs to the drupe category. Plum trees are known for their beautiful blossoms in spring, and the sweet, juicy fruit was eaten as early as Roman times.

Plums contain numerous healthy nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. For example, plums are rich in vitamins A, B6, B12, C and D, and minerals such as potassium, magnesium and iron. In addition, plums are low in calories and are known for their laxative effect.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the country. The plant originally comes from North America and is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures healthy levels of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. The addition of cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibres in cranberries have a positive effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could contribute positively to preventing breed-specific complaints related to, among other things, digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Yourdog East Siberian Laika dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your East Siberian Laika is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For an East Siberian Laika older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog East Siberian Laika Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. That is why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packages. If your East Siberian Laika does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.

Feeding Advice

Transition Advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog East Siberian Laika dog food.

Storage Advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loose in the bin, but to place it with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible, into the bin.
