Our ingredients
To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it is easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range, grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is bursting with health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious, but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can, among other things, contribute to digestion.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.
Picardy Spaniel-specific vegetables, herbs and fruit
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Picardy Spaniel. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Picardy Spaniel belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutrition experts, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Picardy Spaniel.
Glucosamine
Glucosamine is an endogenous substance found in joints, cartilage, joint fluid and tendons. Glucosamine stimulates the production of cartilage and keeps joints flexible.
Glucosamine is one of the most commonly used supplements for dogs with osteoarthritis and/or joint problems. This is not only the case with older dogs, or (overweight) dogs, but increasingly also with younger, very agile dogs. For example, due to a hereditary predisposition to joint problems. For these and other reasons, glucosamine is added to our dog food.
Fenugreek
Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant from the legume family. The plant is also called 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in antiquity in the Mediterranean region. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.
Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponin and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.
Fenugreek can be added to our food to prevent arthritis, asthma, skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of adding fenugreek and it supports healthy digestion.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana was cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can contribute to lowering blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can contribute to muscle relaxation and promoting bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and ensure more good bacteria in the intestines.
Puppy, adult or senior?
To help you make the right choice between our Picardy Spaniel dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Picardy Spaniel is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Picardy Spaniel older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Picardy Spaniel senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Feeding advice
| Body weight (kg) | Daily amount (g) |
| 10 - 20 | 190 - 315 |
| 20 - 40 | 315 - 525 |
| 40 - 60 | 525 - 750 |
Transition advice
If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Picardy Spaniel dog food at your own discretion.
Storage advice
After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you then close as well as possible.
