Our ingredients

To make our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables have been added to our feed. This means that vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruit to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our feed come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Russian toy specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Russian toy. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Russian toy belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Russian toy.

Nettle

Nettle is a genus of plants, with the common nettle and the small nettle occurring in the Netherlands and Belgium. Nettle is known for its purifying and blood-cleansing effect. According to various sources, nettle is bactericidal and therefore very suitable for infectious diseases. The leaves are also suitable for diarrhea or other digestive disorders.

Nettle supports the function of the liver and kidneys by stimulating the breakdown of waste products. In addition, it supports the bladder and hair growth of the dog.

Nettle also contains silicic acid, or silicon. This is a building block that is part of connective tissue in bones, tendons, ligaments, skin, hair, and nails, among others. Silicon supports the natural production of skin (cells) and helps maintain healthy skin.

At Yourdog, we add nettle to our dog food because it can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat, skin, and bones, as well as preventing digestive and/or urinary problems.

Tomato

The tomato is part of the nightshade family and comes from the tomato plant, originally from Mesoamerica. Small varieties were cultivated in Mesoamerica by the Aztecs and Mayans. In 1893, it was decided in America that the fruit should be considered a vegetable.

At Yourdog, we use tomato at a culinary level, considering tomato as a vegetable.

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients, low in calories, and have a high soluble fiber content which contributes to digestion. Tomatoes also contain lycopene, which gives tomatoes their red color. The redder a tomato is, the more lycopene it contains. Besides giving a tomato its red color, it is also known as a powerful antioxidant. Research has shown that lycopene can protect against cancer and can help with cardiovascular diseases, among other things. In addition, tomato contains a lot of vitamin C and vitamin A- and B-complexes, which can contribute to healthy skin and an improved immune system.

Tomato is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, vision, and cardiovascular diseases. In addition, it can have a general purifying effect on the body.

Plums

The plum is a tree fruit from the rose family and falls under the category of stone fruits. Plum trees are known for their beautiful blossoms in spring and the sweet, juicy fruit was eaten early in Roman times.

Plums contain numerous healthy nutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. Plums are rich in vitamins A, B6, B12, C, and D and the minerals potassium, magnesium, and iron. In addition, plums are low in calories and are known for their laxative effect.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Russian toy dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Russian toy is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Russian toy older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Russian toy senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Russian toy does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, we will refund your purchase amount.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Russian toy dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to put it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
