Our ingredients
To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.
Buffalo
At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.
Poultry
At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.
Vegetables
To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables have been added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.
Fruit
We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.
Herbs
The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and seaweed, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.
Scottish Collie specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits
We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Scottish Collie. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Scottish Collie belongs. Based on these studies, and in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Scottish Collie.
Marigold
Marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its diverse medicinal properties for ages. The original calendula species probably grew in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is hardly found in the wild anymore. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.
There is a lot of information available about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for skin and mucous membrane recovery, it has anti-inflammatory properties and a regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestion process.
Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerating properties.
Carrot
The carrot as we know it today, or the orange carrot, is the result of many years of crossbreeding. The first white carrots originally came from Iran and were brought to the Netherlands by the VOC in the 17th century.
Carrots are an important source of vitamins and fiber. Carrots contain retinol (vitamin A1) and beta-carotene, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. This is important for the formation of capillaries and the health of all cells. The fibers in a carrot contribute to the dog's digestion. In addition, carrots are low in calories and good for coat and skin.
At Yourdog, we add carrots to dog food because this can make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the dog's coat and skin. But also to promote good vision and healthy digestion.
Banana
The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.
Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and ensure more good bacteria in the intestines.
