Our ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our food. Vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that your dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for your dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote your dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given special attention. Breed-specific issues can be alleviated by the use of herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Schwyzer Laufhund-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Schwyzer Laufhund. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Schwyzer Laufhund belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Schwyzer Laufhund.

Basil

Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where "Obasileus" means king, hence its alternative name, "king's herb". It originates from central Africa and Southeast Asia.

According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for conditions such as arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, aid in the removal of waste products, and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on dogs.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow primarily in open forests in the Northern Hemisphere. The plant has long been used in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects on gastrointestinal diseases and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibers for digestion and are rich in vitamins C and K. They could support the immune system and contribute to the overall health of the dog.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. In the Netherlands, this plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands and is very rare in the rest of the country. Originally, the plant came from North America and is believed to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also packed with vitamins A, B, and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the bladder environment less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects. The healthy fibers in cranberries have a beneficial effect on digestion and provide a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific issues related to digestion, skin, joints, bones, and nerve functions, among others.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Yourdog Schwyzer Laufhund dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Schwyzer Laufhund is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Schwyzer Laufhund older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Schwyzer Laufhund Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Palatability Guarantee

We are confident in the quality of our food. That's why we offer a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Schwyzer Laufhund does not seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the issues. If we cannot resolve it together, we will refund your purchase price.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog will now be almost completely transitioned to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your own discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Schwyzer Laufhund dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you seal as tightly as possible, into the bin.
