Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so it can be better processed into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for dogs.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With a lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Segugio Italiano. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Segugio Italiano belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Segugio Italiano.

Basil

Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from Ancient Greek, where "Obasileus" means king, so the alternative name is also "royal herb." It is originally found between Central Africa and Southeast Asia.

According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment for conditions such as arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease, and abdominal pain. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral, and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products, and have antispasmodic and calming effects on the dog.

Blueberry

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found in the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally from North America, it is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost for dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B, and C, and antioxidants to support the immune system. Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you choose between our different Segugio Italiano dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Segugio Italiano is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Segugio Italiano older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Segugio Italiano Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

If your Segugio Italiano doesn't seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyze the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of the purchase amount.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After that, you can feed 100% Yourdog Segugio Italiano dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog package, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you have sealed as well as possible, into the bin.
