Our ingredients

To make our feed, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed more easily into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is bursting with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by the use of herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Segugio Italiano. We have also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Segugio Italiano belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Segugio Italiano.

Basil

Basil is a genus from the mint family. The name comes from ancient Greek, where Obasileus means king, so the alternative name is also king's herb. It originally occurs between central Africa and Southeast Asia.

According to traditional medicine, basil was used as a treatment method for arthritis, bronchitis, colds, stomach ulcers, heart disease and abdominal pain, among other things. Research has shown that basil can have strong antioxidant, antiviral and antimicrobial properties. In addition, basil can promote digestion, help eliminate waste products and can have an antispasmodic and calming effect on the dog.

Blueberry

Blueberries belong to the heather family of plants and grow mainly in open forests in the northern hemisphere. The plant has been used for a long time in traditional European medicine and is known for its positive effects in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and diabetes.

Blueberries can be added to our dog food because they are rich in antioxidants, which protect the body against free radicals. In addition, they contain good fibre for digestion and the berries are rich in vitamins C and K. It could support the immune system and contribute to the dog's overall health.

Cranberry

The cranberry is a plant from the heather family. This plant is mainly found on the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands and is very rare in the rest of the Netherlands. Originally from North America, the plant is said to have first arrived in the Netherlands around 1845.

Cranberries contain a unique mix of nutrients that can provide a powerful health boost to dogs. The berries are rich in minerals such as potassium, which ensures a healthy level of vital fluids in the body. These berries are also full of vitamins A, B and C and antioxidants to support the immune system. Vitamin C makes the urine more acidic, which makes the environment in the bladder less attractive for bacteria. Adding cranberry can also have a pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effect. The healthy fibres in cranberries have a healthy effect on digestion and ensure a longer feeling of fullness.

Cranberry is added to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to digestion, skin, joints, bones and nerve functions, among other things.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Segugio Italiano dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Segugio Italiano is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Segugio Italiano older than 7 years, we recommend the . If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We are convinced of the quality of our food. Therefore, we provide a palatability guarantee on all Yourdog packaging. If your Segugio Italiano doesn't seem to like its Yourdog dog food, please contact us. We will help you analyse the problems. If we cannot resolve it together, you will receive a refund of your purchase amount.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for two or three days as well. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog Segugio Italiano dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to put it in the bin with the entire bag, which you close as tightly as possible again.
