Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed more easily into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content, and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma for the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide the dog with extra valuable nutrients, super-healthy vegetables are added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious, but they also have other healthy properties. The crude fiber in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring that the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, but it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and seaweeds, among others, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are highlighted. Breed-specific problems can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Sloughi specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Sloughi. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Sloughi belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Sloughi.

Fenugreek

Fenugreek, like the pea, is a plant from the legume family. The plant is also called foenugreek or 'Greek hay'. It originated in Mesopotamia and was already known in antiquity in the Mediterranean region. Today, fenugreek is also cultivated in Central Asia.

Fenugreek is rich in iron and copper. Fenugreek contains saponins and coumarins, which can help with vein problems. Furthermore, it has anti-inflammatory properties (natural anti-inflammatory) and promotes bile production.

Fenugreek can be added to our food to prevent arthritis, asthma, skin problems. The stomach and intestines also benefit from the positive effects of adding fenugreek, and it supports healthy digestion.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical regions where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, potassium can help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can contribute to muscle relaxation and promote bone growth. Furthermore, bananas contain many good fibers and promote more beneficial bacteria in the gut.

Raspberries

The raspberry is a plant from the rose family and belongs to the genus Rubus. The cultivation of raspberries dates back to the Middle Ages and occurs naturally throughout Europe.

Raspberries contain many substances that can support the dog's health, such as vitamins like vitamin C, minerals like manganese, and antioxidants. Furthermore, raspberries are low in sugar and calories and rich in good fibers.

Raspberry is added to our dog food for its anti-inflammatory properties and can make a positive contribution to the functioning of the immune system. Raspberries can also help maintain vision and a healthy cardiovascular system.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Sloughi dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Sloughi is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Sloughi older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Sloughi senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

We will help you analyze the problems. If we can't find a solution together, you will receive a refund of the purchase price.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this again for two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can, at your own discretion, start feeding 100% Yourdog Sloughi dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to place it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as well as possible.
