Our ingredients

To make our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich color and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is packed with health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog we use duck, chicken and turkey which together provide a delicious taste and aroma of the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in the poultry ensure good muscle building and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants from Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or the breed group, ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers and plants.

Spanish dog specific vegetables, herbs and fruits

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Spanish dog. We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Spanish dog belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Spanish dog.

Marigold

The marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its various medicinal properties for many years. The original calendula species was probably found in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is hardly found in the wild anymore. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There is a lot of information about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to dog food by us because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes and feet. Especially good for skin and mucous membrane recovery, it is anti-inflammatory and has a regenerating effect. It can also prevent cramps during the digestion process.

Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerating properties.

Parsley

Parsley is a biennial, hardy, herbaceous plant from the carrot family. Parsley has been used as a medicinal herb for hundreds of years. There are dozens of diseases that parsley fights. According to various sources, it cures diarrhea, anemia and ear infections, among others. It is full of iron, more than spinach, for example. Parsley also contains other minerals such as silicon, as well as vitamins B and C and carotene.

At Yourdog, we add parsley to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to blood, heart and kidneys.

Parsley is a natural source of vitamins C, A and K. This can contribute to the immune system and the eyes and can support the cardiovascular system and the liver. Parsley also has anti-inflammatory properties and can have a diuretic effect, keeping the dog's bladder free from pollution.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that bananas may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C and B11 (folic acid) and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen immunity. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and ensure more good bacteria in the intestines.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Spanish dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Spanish dog is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Spanish dog older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Spanish dog senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. Then mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After this, you can start feeding 100% Yourdog Spanish dog food at your own discretion.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage box or container in a dry, cool and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the container, but to put it in the container with the entire bag, which you close as best as possible.
