Our ingredients

To make our food, for a 12 kg bag, 10.6 kg of meat is dried so that it can be processed better into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruits, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffalo. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste, rich color, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed, or the breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be alleviated by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

We have also researched the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Sussex Spaniel belongs. Chicory

Celery

Celery is a plant from the parsley family. The plant is often found along the coast on wet ground.

Celery is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, but also contains a lot of folic acid and potassium. In addition, celery is fat-free, rich in fiber, and very low in calories.

We add celery to our dog food because it can positively contribute to supporting the dog's immune system and digestion. It can also have a positive effect on the skin and coat, the functioning of muscles and nerves due to vitamin A, and maintaining strong bones due to vitamin K.

Banana

The banana plant grows in tropical areas where the temperature does not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. There is even evidence that the banana may have been cultivated in New Guinea about 7,000 years ago. The name is derived from the word 'Obanaana' from the language of the Wolof people.

Bananas are rich in vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, C, and B11 (folic acid), and the minerals potassium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. The natural antioxidant, vitamin C, can strengthen the immune system. Vitamin B11, or folic acid, can support the immune system and contribute to a well-functioning nervous system. It can also reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. Potassium can also help lower blood pressure in dogs with high blood pressure, magnesium can help relax muscles and promote bone growth. In addition, bananas contain many good fibers and promote more good bacteria in the intestines.

Puppy, adult, or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Sussex Spaniel dog food variants, you can use the following guidelines. If your Sussex Spaniel is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Sussex Spaniel older than 7 years, we recommend the Yourdog Sussex Spaniel Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Feeding advice

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another feed brand, we recommend following these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important to let the dog get used to this for two or three days again. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog is now almost completely switched to Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. After your own discretion, you can then feed 100% Yourdog Sussex Spaniel dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to put the food loosely in the bin, but to place the entire bag, which you re-seal as well as possible, into the bin.
