Our ingredients

To produce our food, 10.6 kg of meat is dried for a 12 kg bag, making it easier to process into our kibble. With the right amount of vegetables, fruit, and herbs, Yourdog is a healthy, nutritious choice for your dog.

Buffalo

At Yourdog, we use meat from free-range and grass-fed buffaloes. Buffalo meat is known for its creamy, fresh taste and rich colour and is packed with vitamins and minerals. With lower cholesterol and fat content and fewer calories, this tender meat is full of health benefits.

Poultry

At Yourdog, we use duck, chicken, and turkey, which together provide a delicious taste and aroma to the kibble. The highly digestible proteins in poultry ensure good muscle development and are rich in vitamins and minerals.

Vegetables

To provide dogs with extra valuable nutrients, super healthy vegetables are added to our food. Thus, vegetables are not only nutritious but also have other healthy properties. The crude fibre in vegetables is good for the intestines and can contribute to digestion, among other things.

Fruit

We add a unique combination of fruits to Yourdog, ensuring the dog receives all essential, natural antioxidants. Fruit can be good for the dog's immune system, and it can also contribute to fresh breath or maintaining healthy digestion. These natural ingredients promote the dog's health.

Herbs

The healthy herbs that enrich our food come from plants in Europe. The use of herbs, roots, flowers, plants, and algae, among other things, dates back thousands of years. These ingredients support the natural processes in the dog's body, such as digestion. Every ingredient we add to our dog food is carefully selected for its positive properties. Depending on the size of the dog, the breed or breed group, certain ingredients are given extra attention. Breed-specific complaints can be reduced by using herbs, roots, flowers, and plants.

Tatra-specific vegetables, herbs, and fruit

We have carefully researched the breed characteristics of the Tatra. We also investigated the characteristics of the FCI breed section and the FCI breed group to which the Tatra belongs. From these studies, in consultation with leading Dutch nutritionists, ingredients have been selected that optimally benefit the health and well-being of the Tatra.

Marigold

Marigold (calendula) is a plant that, like goldenrod, belongs to the daisy family. Calendula is a cultivated flower; it has been used for its various medicinal properties for centuries. The original calendula species probably grew in Asia and Eastern Europe, but this field marigold is now hardly found in the wild. Marigold is also an edible plant for humans and is rich in nutrients.

There is much information available about the positive effects of calendula. Calendula can be added to dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to the skin, mouth, throat, digestion, eyes, and feet. It is especially good for the recovery of skin and mucous membranes, it has anti-inflammatory and regenerative properties. It can also prevent cramps during the digestive process.

Calendula is mainly used as an external care product for scratches or skin problems, among other things. But it can also be used internally due to its regenerative properties.

Thyme

Thyme is a genus from the mint family. It includes herbaceous or woody plants with a very aromatic scent. Thyme was used by the Greeks and Romans as a medicinal herb against lung diseases, rheumatism, paralysis, stomach cramps, tumours, headaches, colic, and nervous weaknesses.

The medicinal properties of thyme are confirmed by the high levels of vitamin K it contains. In addition, thyme also contains a lot of iron, as well as the minerals calcium and manganese. It also contains the amino acid tryptophan and a significant amount of fibre.

Thyme is anti-inflammatory and has potent antibacterial and antifungal effects. In addition, it stimulates the production of white blood cells and strengthens the immune system. Thyme is rich in antioxidants and effectively combats free radicals.

At Yourdog, we add thyme to our dog food because it could make a positive contribution to preventing breed-specific complaints related to rheumatism, paralysis, stomach, and nerves. Thyme is also a natural bacteria fighter.

Apple

The apple tree is a tree from the genus Malus, on which the common eating apples, especially in the northern hemisphere, grow. The apple grows in temperate regions.

Dietary fibres have a versatile effect on the digestive tract. They are able to absorb moisture, making stools soft and smooth. Dietary fibres also increase the volume in the intestines. This not only stimulates intestinal function but also ensures thorough removal of waste products.

Apples are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fibre. In addition, apples are rich in pectin. Pectin is a soluble fibre that helps support healthy gut flora. It also contributes to the palatability of the kibble, and apples are low in calories.

Rich in vitamins A and C. Vitamin A is good for the skin and coat and strengthens the immune system. Vitamin C ensures the development of muscle and bone during the early years.

Puppy, adult or senior?

To help you make the right choice between our Yourdog Tatra dog food varieties, you can use the following guidelines. If your Tatra is younger than 11 months, choose the Puppy variant. For a Tatra older than 7 years, we recommend Yourdog Tatra Senior. If your dog is older than 11 months and younger than 7 years, you can choose the Adult variant.

Transition advice

If you are switching to Yourdog from another food brand, we advise you to follow these steps. For the first step, feed 25% Yourdog and 75% of the old dog food. The dog can get used to this for two days. Then feed 50% Yourdog and 50% of the old dog food. It is important that you let the dog get used to this for another two or three days. After that, mix 75% Yourdog and 25% of the old dog food. The dog will now be almost entirely on Yourdog. Do this for 2 days. At your discretion, you can then start feeding 100% Yourdog Tatra dog food.

Storage advice

After opening the Yourdog packaging, the food is exposed to oxygen, moisture, and light, which can affect its shelf life and taste. Therefore, it is important to store the food properly after opening the bag, preferably in an airtight storage container or bin in a dry, cool, and dark place. It is best not to pour the food loosely into the bin, but to place it in the bin with the entire bag, which you seal as best as possible.
